Construction Details
Project construction will launch in March/April 2026.
Interstate Lane Shifts and Speed Reductions
-
At least two interstate lanes will remain open in each direction during daytime hours.
-
Interstate lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 8 p.m. - 6 a.m. weekdays.

Traffic shifts and crossovers will be in place at the Mae Anne Avenue overpass and in the Mogul area, routing traffic around areas of active bridge demolition and reconstruction.

Interstate speed limits will be reduced to 55mph in work zones.

Intermittent side street and brief interstate detours will take place as individual sections of bridge are removed. Advance notice will be given, and daytime traffic will still be able to utilize interstate lanes.

Interstate drivers can anticipate moderate travel delays through the work zone.

Construction schedule is weather permitting and subject to change.
Initial Months of Construction
Initial phases of construction in spring and summer 2026 will primarily include travel lanes being shifted to the outside shoulder and launch of construction to replace the Garson Road bridge over I-80 at Boomtown Exit 4.
Local roads:
Intermittent single lane reductions will also take place during daytime hours on Mae Anne Avenue, West Fourth Street and Mogul Road underneath I-80. Traffic flaggers will alternate directions of travel, with minor travel delays.
